Authorised payment institutions and authorised e-money institutions, like most FCA firms, submit an annual close links report within four months of their accounting reference date (SUP 16.5.4R). It's due on the same day as the [controllers report](/deadlines/controllers-report).
Check the date against your own records.
What it covers
The people and companies your firm has close links with, such as a parent company, subsidiaries or a large shareholding. The FCA uses it to check that those links don't get in the way of supervising you. It's submitted electronically on the form in SUP 16 Annex 36A.
Groups
A group can submit one report for all its firms, as long as it meets each firm's due date and lists every firm's reference number. Each firm stays responsible for its own report (SUP 16.5.6G).
Get reminded before it's due
Regmindr tracks this alongside the rest of your compliance calendar, and emails your team before each deadline. Set it up from your year end in about two minutes.
