Central Bank of Ireland quarterly returns deadline
Central Bank of Ireland · Quarterly · Normally 1 month after each quarter end
Payment and e-money institutions authorised in Ireland upload quarterly accounts and supplementary returns in XBRL on the Central Bank Portal. The Portal sets each due date, normally 1 month after the reporting date. Quarters count from the institution's own financial year end.
Check the date against your own records.
Which returns
- Payment institutions: the Payment Institution Accounts return (PIA) and the Payment Institution Supplementary return (PIS)
- E-money institutions: the E-Money Institution Accounts return (EIA) and the E-Money Institution Supplementary return (EIS)
Working out the date
The reporting dates fall every 3 months from your financial year end, and each return is normally due a month later. For a 31 December year end, that's 31 January, 30 April, 31 July and 31 October.
The due date that counts is the one the Central Bank schedules on the Portal. Check it there each quarter, and move the date in Regmindr if yours differs.
Getting it right
The Central Bank expects the data in these returns to be accurate and complete. Incorrect returns have to be resubmitted, including when a later audit significantly changes a quarter's figures, and firms that submit incorrect returns may be subject to sanction.
Get reminded before it's due
Regmindr tracks this alongside the rest of your compliance calendar, and emails your team before each deadline. Set it up from your year end in about two minutes.
